In our drive to do better, Earth2o is on track to be one of the first American bottled water companies to use bottles made from 100% recycled PET. This is big. Obviously, it reduces the need to create new plastic and the resources, energy and waste associated with that process. But our goal is to improve on even that: using 100% rPET sourced from here—our Oregon—reducing the impact of the recycling supply chain that much more.
About plastic: So far, plastic bottles offer the best combination of factors we need to get one of the world’s best waters to you in a practical, economical way. There isn’t an alternative that suits us better yet. And until one is developed, we’re excited to have 100% recycled PET as an option. It’s efficient, it’s real, it’s the right way to go.
It doesn’t end the plastic bottle debate. But it makes a serious dent in what we already have enough of (plastic), and puts processes and infrastructure already in place to work in cleaner, healthier, more efficient ways. That’s progress we can be proud of.
